We have submitted a planning application to Salford City Council for land at Hazelhurst Farm in Worsley, marking a significant step forward in delivering much-needed new homes in the local area.
The proposed development will deliver 155 high-quality family homes, offering a mix of one- to six-bedroom properties designed to meet the needs of modern families at all stages of life. The scheme forms part of the wider development on land at Hazelhurst Farm, in partnership with Taylor Wimpey, which will deliver a total of 330 homes, land for a new primary school, and key highways improvements.
Our portion of the scheme will provide 50% affordable housing – of which 20% will be delivered on-site and the remainder through off-site financial contributions – alongside approximately 2.25 hectares of open space, landscaping, and biodiversity enhancements. Through a Section 106 agreement*, we will contribute over £7.2 million towards local infrastructure and community facilities, supporting education, sports, allotments, and other amenities.
Adam Galleymore, Operations Director at Story Homes North West, said:
“Submitting this planning application represents an exciting milestone for Hazelhurst Farm and for Worsley. Our aim is to create a sustainable, well-connected community that offers beautiful homes alongside extensive green spaces and community benefits. We are committed to delivering a development that will make a lasting positive impact on the area and its residents.”
The scheme is expected to provide significant economic benefits to Worsley and the surrounding areas, including the creation of construction jobs, engagement with local subcontractors, and increased demand for local services once the homes are occupied.
We continue to work closely with Salford City Council and local stakeholders to ensure the development meets community needs and delivers a high-quality living environment.
*A Section 106 is a legal agreement between an applicant seeking planning permission and the local planning authority, which is used to mitigate the impact of any new homes on the local community and infrastructure.
