Story Homes sponsors Skills Fair

January 2017

Story Homes is the main sponsor at this weeks Carlisle Skills Fair, which aims to help hundreds of young people in the area get into training and employment, and help businesses tackle growing skills shortages.

The event is being hosted by Carlisle MP John Stevenson and takes place at The Sands Centre on Thursday 26 January from 2-7pm.

Story Homes, along with around 90 other employers and training organisations will be exhibiting at the Skills Fair, offering career advice and helpful hints and tips.

Steve Errington, Chief Executive of Story Homes said: “We have ambitious growth plans here at Story Homes. We’re currently in the process of expanding our business now that we’ve established two new bases in the North East and North West. Over the last year we have recruited over 100 people.

“To support this growth we have a huge number of career opportunities across a range of roles including administration, finance, engineering and design as well as bricklaying and joinery.

“We’re committed to providing the very best training opportunities for our colleagues and as we expand into new areas, we want to secure a pipeline of talent for the future. As such, Story Homes can provide people with a very successful, long-term career.”

The Skills Fair is a great opportunity to talk about current and upcoming vacancies as well as opportunities for those considering work placements and apprenticeships.
