Martin Nugent a recent student of Newcastle University has just joined Story Homes as a Graduate Planner. With an MPlan in Town Planning, the 25 year old from Windermere has joined the planning team to support it in driving applications and securing planning permissions for the business.

To begin with, Martin will play a role supporting Story Homes’ activities across the many regions they now cover: Cumbria, Scotland, Lancashire and the north east, with an eventual focus on the expanding developments and activities in Lancashire. Martin will initially be based at Story House, the company’s brand new headquarters in Carlisle, but will eventually move to a base in Lancashire when the company secures a base in the county.
Although due to graduate in July, Martin brings to his post all round experience of the planning process. He worked for Leeds based planning consultancy, Peacock and Smith for a year before undertaking his Master’s and whilst undertaking his further study, worked part-time at Nathaniel Lichfield and Partners, planning consultancy in Newcastle.
