We are proposing to submit a detailed planning application for 144 high quality new homes on this site off Preston Road in Grimsargh.
The development will provide a range of much needed high quality and high specification apartments, terraced, semi-detached and detached family homes, and will include 35% affordable homes. The development will consist of one, two, three, four and five-bedroom homes, which will help the local authority meet its housing target.
The award-winning developer is consulting with key stakeholders and residents adjacent to this site on proposals for new houses, before submitting a detailed planning application to Preston City Council in Autumn 2018.
The site was granted outline planning permission for upto 150 dwellings in May 2016. The Story Homes application will establish the detailed design of the scheme.
As part of the development, Story Homes will contribute around £290,000 towards education and travel plans as well as an onsite play area. The scheme will also generate a Community Infrastructure Levy payment of circa £970,000 which the council can use to fund infrastructure projects which support local communities.
The development will provide opportunities for local contractors as well as benefits for local supply chains. Employment opportunities would be created both directly through Story Homes and indirectly through the knock on effect for local businesses.
Senior development planner, Siobhan Sweeney, said: “The consultation is an opportunity for the residents of Grimsargh to comment and provide feedback on our plans. The site has been granted outline planning for upto 150 homes and we hope to deliver the best possible development here.
“We believe that our product is appropriate for this site due to the high quality of our houses and also our dedication to building developments which complement the local area, through thoughtful planning and design.”
Following the consultation, which includes a letter drop to the local area, Story Homes plans to submit a detailed planning application to Preston City Council in Autumn 2018.
