Make 2017 the year you resolve to relax

February 2017

New Year is just over the horizon, so confess – how many of your resolutions did you keep this year?

If the answer is ‘not many’ or even ‘not any’, you’re not alone. Only eight in every hundred of us actually achieve our resolutions. So why not make 2017 the year your one resolution is to relax and indulge yourself.

Food and drink

Ok so we’re not suggesting you throw caution completely to the wind and forget about your five a day. But no-one should feel guilty about finishing off their Christmas chocs in the New Year – just don’t eat them all at once.

Don’t deprive yourself too much, small healthy substitutions such as salad instead of fries would mean you can enjoy a beautiful cupcake or yummy pudding while you relax in your home.

Health and fitness

We’re looking for excuses to indulge ourselves so why not work exercise into your daily life rather than stressing out in the gym. Walk more – it’s good for your heart and waistline, it’s a natural stress-buster. It’s fun too if you’re well wrapped up – a perfect reason to shop for a nice new coat?

Relationships

Allowing yourself treats and time to think will also help if you’re seeking a relationship, so don’t try too hard. Relax and reflect on what’s positive about you; once you feel good about yourself, you’ll feel more attractive too.

Home

Whatever your budget in the New Year simple changes can make a huge difference to your comfort and well-being. Banning clutter is a great place to start. You can create a tranquil space infused with relaxing scents in your bedroom or living room – the perfect sanctuary to curl up and snuggle into at the end of a busy day.
