Successful start for our Sedgefield development

January 2018

We opened our show home at our new development in Sedgefield last weekend, and we have already seen a sales uplift as a result of visitors now being able to visit the highly-anticipated property.

St Edmund’s Manor is located just off Stockton Road in Sedgefield, and features a range of 14 three, four and five-bedroom family homes that are built to a high specification. This includes our first dormer bungalows in the North East, helping to boost the supply of a variety of housing in the area.

The four-bedroom detached ‘Winchester’ show home, which has been styled by our interior designer Suzanne Webster, displays the features that come as standard in our homes. These include bi-fold/French doors leading onto turfed gardens, large block-paved driveways, bathroom fittings by Crosswater and tiling by Porcelanosa.

We had sold all of the plots that were part of the first release of homes before opening the show home. Having now released the second set of homes, and following a successful opening weekend, two thirds of homes on both releases combined have now been secured by buyers.

These include the ‘Banbury’ dormer bungalow – marking the first time that a buyer in the North East has been able to secure this house type. The first family has now moved into their new home at St Edmund’s Manor, with a number of other plots due to complete over the coming weeks.

Local couple Libby and Ian Lawson reserved a three-bedroom ‘Hastings’ on the show home opening day, and are looking forward to moving to St Edmund’s Manor. Libby said: “We currently live at Wynyard, and we wanted to stay in the area but to downsize as our children have now left home. Even though we were looking for a smaller home, we still wanted it to be built and finished to a high standard, so a Story Home suited us perfectly.”

Among the visitors that viewed the show home at the opening were Aimee and Anthony Gunn. They commented: “We have previously visited other Story Homes developments in the North East and knew that we loved the quality and design. While we looked at various house types, we kept coming back to the Winchester. We visited St Edmund’s Manor the previous week and found out that a Winchester show home was opening here, so it was really good timing. The layout and location would make it an ideal family home for us and our two-year-old daughter.”

Gillian Bell, Sales Manager at Story Homes, said: “St Edmund’s Manor has proved popular from the start due to the quality of the homes and the desirable location; it offers all the benefits of village life with excellent transport links for commuters. It was great to introduce our show home to so many potential buyers at our opening, and to receive such positive feedback on the property’s design and layout, spacious feel and superior finish.

“With many homes already off the market, we are looking forward to the first few residents moving in and seeing this new community start to develop.”

Our marketing suite and show home at St Edmund’s Manor are open from Thursdays to Mondays, 11am to 5pm. For more information, contact our Sales Executive, Sharon, on 0777 303 0473 or email st.edmundsmanor@storyhomes.co.uk.
