Why first-time buyers should consider a Story Home at Pendleton Grange this weekend

March 2018

Join on Saturday 24 March at our first-time buyer event at Pendleton Grange.

At Story Homes, we want to support first-time buyers as much as possible. There are various benefits to buying one of our homes as your first – they are usually more spacious than other new builds, which is useful for families or those thinking about a family in the future. It means that you would be less likely to need to move again, saving a significant amount in stamp duty, solicitors’ and estate agents’ fees and other associated costs.

Also, a new build is a blank canvas – you can live comfortably while decorating it to your own taste in your own time – and as our homes have high quality fixtures and fittings, you won’t need to change anything in a hurry. Our homes have no upward chain and come with a ten-year NHBC warranty covering structural defects.

Possibly, the biggest incentive to buy a new build is the government’s Help to Buy scheme. The government lends you up to 20% of the cost of your new home, so you only need a 5% deposit and a mortgage of 75%. You are not charged interest for the first 5 years and you can repay this loan at any time.

Pendleton Grange, which is located in Clitheroe, offers a superb collection of high quality, high specification two, three and four-bedroom properties. With several different property types to choose from including apartments, terraced, semi-detached and detached houses and offering up to 1592 sq ft of living space, so there is truly something for everyone. The homes will boast attractive exteriors incorporating stone, brick and render, adding to the charm of the area and creating the stunning street scenes for which we are renowned.

Sales Manager Richard Kitson said: “Our Pendleton Grange development is sought after and we are pleased to be able to offer Help to Buy on a number of selected plots, as well as certain house types that are well-suited to first-time buyers. We have an extensive range of three and four bedroom properties which are ideal for the first time buyer.”

The Rowan, three-bedroom terraced house, is perfect for people trying to get on the property market for the first time. They are available through the Shared Ownership scheme with Heylo properties. Shared Ownership allows customers to buy a share in a new home, ranging from 30% to 75% depending on what you can afford. Heylo Housing owns the remaining share and you pay a reduced rent on that share.
