A Day in the Life of Sue Walton, Sales Executive at Kingsbrook Wood

April 2016

10.15am – I arrive at work and the first thing I do is open up the showhomes. I like to check that everything is up to our high Story Homes standards. It is often the first time potential buyers get to see a Story home. I always get great feedback about the space and layout of our house styles.

10.30am – It’s Thursday and we have been closed on Tuesday and Wednesday so I check e-mails and voicemails and respond to any enquiries or messages I had while we were closed. There are a few potential sales leads and a couple who want to visit the showhomes as they have heard about our new developments in North Tyneside and at Wynyard Park.

11.00am – My first appointment of the day has arrived; a young couple looking for their first owned home. One of my favourite parts of being a sales executive at Story Homes is meeting families who are at different stages of their lives.  From first time buyers to downsizers, it’s lovely getting to know them and helping them to choose their perfect Story home. This couple are getting married next year and are interested in buying a Taunton. I sell the benefits of Help to Buy and all of the great things about a Story Home – from the high specification and extras included as standard to our after-sales service and warranty. They are sold and go to look at securing a mortgage.

12noon – A lady has arrived to take a look around the three show homes we have here. She loves them and is keen to buy here. She leaves with a brochure and I will follow this up over the weekend.

1.00pm – Along with the site manager, I am signing off a plot which is due to complete next week. I’m checking that all of the customer’s options correspond with their order and the house is spotless and in a perfect condition. It’s important to me that I hand over a home at a standard that I would personally be happy to live in.

2.30pm – I put a quick call in to confirm a reservation appointment this weekend. The customers are already looking at the range of tiles and kitchen units we have so they can personalise their home. I sent them our “Select” brochure which allows them to upgrade the specification further still.

4.00pm – I check the Kingsbrook Wood pages on our website to make sure all of the information is correct and pull together all of the documents I need for my two completions tomorrow. I love handing happy customers their new keys along with flowers and a Builder Bear. It’s always appreciated, and a nice added touch!

5.00pm – Time to check the showhomes to make sure they are looking perfect and ready for more visitors tomorrow.

5.30pm – Driving home, I notice how fantastic the site is looking. I always check that marketing and directional signage is correct and looks clean and tidy too.
