Consultation underway for new homes in Crewe

July 2017

We are proposing to submit a planning application for approximately 113 high quality new homes on the land east of Syndey Road in Crewe.

We are consulting with key stakeholders and residents adjacent to this site on our proposals for new houses, before submitting a detailed planning application to Cheshire East Council in August 2017.

The houses, which will include a number of affordable homes, will help the local authority to meet their housing target.

The scheme will have benefits for the local economy during the construction phase as a result of direct and indirect employment opportunities through the sub-contractor and supply chains, as well as an increased demand for local services when the new houses are occupied.

Development planner Siobhan Sweeney said: “The consultation is an opportunity for the residents of Crewe to comment and provide feedback on our plans. The site has been draft allocated for residential development by Cheshire East Council and we hope to deliver the best possible development here.

“We believe that our product is appropriate for this site due to the high quality of our houses and also our dedication to building developments which complement the local area, through thoughtful planning and design.”

Following the consultation, which included a letter drop to the local area, Story Homes plans to submit a detailed planning application to the council in August 2017. It is hoped that the council will approve the development on the site.

Story Homes has built more than 800 houses high quality homes in 2016/2017 financial year and will build a landmark 1000 homes in 2017/18. They have a strong reputation for building homes and communities that people aspire to live in – something that has stood them apart from their competitors since Story Homes was founded in 1987.
