Proposal

Story Homes is bringing forward proposals for a third phase of The Fairways, located in North Penrith.

The proposals will provide around 265 new homes across a range of sizes, that will meet the needs of growing families, first-time buyers, and households looking to downsize. This phase will contribute positively towards Westmorland and Furness’ supply of open market and affordable housing whilst also providing new public open space for the enjoyment of existing and new residents.

We have created a dedicated page which provides more information on our proposals.  From here, you will be able to leave your feedback. Click here to view the dedicated page.

Community Benefits

Meeting housing needs

The site will create a new neighbourhood with homes that meet the housing needs of the local community, bringing a boost to Westmorland and Furness’ supply of new affordable homes through a 30% contribution, equating to approximately 79 new affordable homes available for Affordable Rent and to purchase at a discount or on a shared ownership basis. House types will accessible and adaptable to changing circumstances.

Public open space

Our proposals include the creation of new public open space and an equipped play area for use by the local community.

Local economy

Our proposals will support existing local businesses and help create additional employment through new opportunities for local sub-contractors and the supply chain.

Local contributions

Our proposals would include a new community centre for use by residents for a range of uses.
