Branding for ‘The Ridings’

Story Homes has been recognised by the marketing industry for the successful rebrand and growth of the business.

The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) highly commended Story Homes for rebranding the business in an aspirational way in line with the high quality homes they sell. They praised the ‘small but effective team’ for meeting all objectives and delivering clear results. Story Homes was up against seven other organisations including an NHS team and a Huddersfield University.

Story Homes rebranded the business in 2012/13 changing not only the logo but the approach to branding for individual developments and using interactive ways to showcase the product.

The rebrand was in line with exciting growth plans announced by Story Homes in 2012. Since then the business has grown by 65%, now having 12 live developments across Cumbria, the North East, Lancashire and Scotland, as well as six sites ‘coming soon’ and many more in the planning pipeline.

Due to the ambitious growth plans, a rebrand was required to grow brand recognition in new geographical areas. The marketing team, lead by Marketing Manager Catherine Cannon, reviewed Story Homes’ proposition and implemented what is described as a ‘vibrant, exciting and aspirational look and feel’ in line with the high quality and high specification homes Story Homes are renowned for. The rebrand has also seen the use of 3D flythrough videos and virtual tours on the revamped website and social media channels.

Steve Errington, Chief Executive of Story Homes added: “The rebrand of Story Homes has without doubt helped us to achieve our growth plans and will continue to do so as we reach into new geographical areas and grow our brand recognition. Feedback from customers, partners and our own colleagues has been fantastic and to be praised by the marketing industry itself is the icing on the cake and encouragement to continue our plans and aim to be an industry leader in in-house marketing as we grow.”

The CIM Northern Awards presented the Marketing team with the ‘Highly Commended’ honour at a ceremony in Liverpool on Thursday 19 June. No other category received a highly commended award.

The CIM awards recognise excellence in all aspects of marketing from across northern England. For more information about CIM visit: http://www.cimnorthernawards.co.uk/
