Our Interior Design partners, Show Business Interiors, have transformed the 4-bedroom Harrison show home at Oakleigh Fields into a winter wonderland ready for the festivities. We caught up with one of the stylists to find out about decorating the show home and steal some top tips for creating a magical Christmas in your own home.
“The rich colour palette in The Harrison made it the perfect setting for a cosy Christmas home. We took inspiration from the deep tones around the show home and combined them with fresh elements like touches of white berries and eucalyptus to give it a contemporary take on Christmas.
“We knew the living room would be the heart of Christmas in the family home, so played with layering and textures to create a relaxing setting. In the kitchen we wanted to show how the family would enjoy sharing Christmas with one another, so added fun extras like festive children’s mugs and gingerbread houses.”
“Christmas is a time for family and sharing fun with your nearest and dearest, because of this we definitely recommend using items that spark joy in your family home. This can be items such as homemade garlands, personalised baubles or even adding sweet touches to the dinner table for your family to engage in.”
“We do love the cosiness of the living room with the fire and festive garland set up, however, the family area in the kitchen is just screaming for a relaxing warm hot chocolate and mince pie on the sofa.”
