The local ‘Round Table’ has been given a free sleigh full of gifts from Story Homes.
Each year toys are bought from local shops, and the ‘Round Table’ arrange for Santa and his helpers to hand them out from Santas’ sleigh. This year, Story Homes is helping spread the Christmas cheer by covering the cost of the gifts and providing sweets.
Geoff Chambers said: “This event is really special to the people of Cockermouth. It marks the start of Christmas, gets the whole community together and there is an excellent festive atmosphere.
“It’s thanks to the support of local business such as Story Homes that the event is so successful. Although without our brilliant volunteers, it couldn’t take place. They will all be very deserving of a mulled wine and a mince pie come Saturday evening.”
Construction is now underway at ‘Strawberry Grange’ Story Homes development in Cockermouth with the first homes due to be complete in early 2017.
Sales Manager Susan Pollard said: “We look to play an active part in the community where we can and if Santa needs a hand then we are more than happy to help.”
Story Homes supports local groups and residents through their Sustainable Story initiative, which is the developers commitment to giving something back to their local communities.
Strawberry Grange is an executive development of 3, 4 and 5 bedroom properties, which will be finished to a high specification and taking aspirational living to the next level.
The onsite marketing suite is open Thursday to Monday from 10.30am until 4.30pm.
