Whitehaven’s Greenbank Community Centre was given a helping hand for the summer holidays with sponsorship funding from Story Homes.
The Community Centre, located in the small Greenbank housing estate in Whitehaven just of St. Bees Road provided a great outlet for children and parents all summer. They put on several activities and events throughout the holidays including their big ‘Fun Day’.
The Fun Day was held in August, with Story Home’s £500 donation going a long way in supporting this. Having postponed the first initial Fun Day due to bad weather, they were blessed with lovely sunshine for the rescheduled date. There was a variety of activities put up on the field outside the centre including bouncy castles, slides, football nets and more. There was plenty of excitement and everyone involved had such a great day.
There is still plenty going on at this community hub including a Play Scheme held on Wednesdays and Fridays. Story Homes are always keen on supporting local communities and it is great to be part of the project Greenbank are doing.
Story Homes will soon be contributing even further to the local Whitehaven community with the launch of our highly anticipated ‘Waters Edge’ development.
