Our Shotley Bridge development The Woodlands has won its third UK Property Award.
It was the first development to mark our expansion o North East in 2012. This impressive site has been awarded its third UK Property Award for Best Residential Development in Durham 2016 after picking up the accolade for the first time in 2013 and again in 2015.
We were announced as preferred developer of the former Shotley Bridge General Hospital site in 2009 following a tendering process. Since starting on site in 2012, we are currently four years through a seven year build process.
There will be 234 homes built in total across the 34 acre site.
Ian Worgan, managing director of Story Homes in the North East, said: “The fact that The Woodlands has been awarded this prestigious industry award for the third time is a real testament to the unique, high quality homes we have built on this site.
“Built to Lifetime Homes standard, Secure by Design requirements and featuring many sustainable elements such as solar roof panels and water butts, this development offers a completely unique home to North East buyers.
“On top of that, the location is fantastic, with incredible views across the Derwent Valley. It is a development that we are very proud of and it is fantastic to see that it has been recognised once again with this award.”
Properties on the fourth phase of The Woodlands range from 1,016 sq ft to 1,905 sq ft. There are now less than 70 homes to sell on the development before it is completed in 2019.
