Application submitted to build new homes in Kirklevington

July 2017

We have submitted a reserved matters application to build 145 high quality new homes in the village of Kirklevington.

The application has been validated by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, following on from it granting outline planning permission for the principle of the development of the site in March 2017.

Submitted jointly with Jomast Developments Ltd, the proposals would create a sustainable and integrated development that would make an important contribution to the housing supply in the area.

The proposed development, based on land off Thirsk Road in the village, would deliver a mix of house types from three-bedroom semi-detached to five-bedroom detached homes. In addition, 15% of the new homes would be affordable two and three-bedroom homes.

Provision for a village shop, multi-use games area, a public car park and public open space is also included in the proposals.

A public exhibition was held in Kirklevington in May 2017, where local residents and stakeholders had the opportunity to discuss the draft proposals with our representatives and provide feedback.

Richard Newsome, Planner at Story Homes North East, said: “As demonstrated by our plans, we are committed to designing and building high specification family homes, as well as to making a positive impact in the local community by providing affordable homes, creating open spaces, and making financial contributions towards improvements to local schools.

“In addition, we will deliver economic benefits back into the local area by supporting existing local businesses and employing local subcontractors and suppliers. We hope that the Council will recognise the value of our proposals and grant planning permission so that we can start work on this development and bring new homes to Kirklevington.”

A decision on the application is expected in autumn this year.

Full details of the application are available to view on Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s website, using the reference 17/1718/REM.
