Proposal

Story Homes is preparing a planning application for the development of 86 high-quality new homes on land south of  Chain House Lane, Whitestake.

The proposed scheme includes a range of one to six-bedroom homes, including 30% affordable housing. The site forms part of safeguarded land for future development under Policy G3 of the adopted South Ribble Local Plan 2015. The site forms part of a wider draft housing allocation reference HS3.2 (Apsley House, Farrington) through the emerging Central Lancashire Local Plan.

Prior to the submission of a planning application, Story Homes is undertaking a public consultation to shape the development proposals. The consultation period will run for a duration of two weeks from 15 to 29 April 2026.

Benefits

  • Our proposals will include 30% affordable housing.
  • Our proposals will include the creation of new open space for the benefit of local people and new residents alike.
  • Our proposals will support existing local businesses and help create additional employment through new opportunities for local sub-contractors and the supply chain, as well as an increased demand for local services when the new homes are occupied.
