Investment in Land and Planning team ahead of planned growth in the North East

November 2021

We have made some key appointments to our Land and Planning team in the North East in preparation for a period of growth that will see us increasing our yearly output to 450 homes by FY24, an increase of over 84%.

Stuart Morgan, who joined the business earlier this year as North East Land Director, bringing with him over 18 years of experience in the sector, is heading up our regional team.

Stuart said: “It’s important that we have the right people in place to ensure the continued success of the region, so to support the already excellent team, we have recruited two new senior members, Dan Chant and Rosie Chant.”

Dan joins as Senior Land Manager following six years in our Strategic Land and North West Land team, and Rosie, who has also been with the business for six years, has relocated from the Strategic Land team, taking up the role of Land Manager.

Stuart continued: “We are focussing on driving forward the acquisition of a number of high profile sites in the region and the combined skills and expertise that Dan and Rosie bring to the team puts us in a strong position to do this.”

Paul Fenton, Development Planner for our Cumbria and South Scotland region, has been seconded to the team in the North East too, bringing an additional eight years of experience in planning.

Stuart summarised: “These key appointments will help to position Story Homes very strongly for a period of steady growth within the North East housing market.”

Based at Newcastle Business Park in our new regional headquarters, Riverview Business Centre, we are now in our seventh year of operations within the region and currently have eight developments throughout the North East, with a further four exciting new sites planned to start in the new year.

Allan Thompson, Managing Director for Story Homes in the North East, said: “The success of Story Homes in the North East region has gone from strength to strength and these key appointments will help us to achieve our business goals and growth plans in the region.

“I have every faith in Stuart and his team and look forward to bringing more of our popular homes to areas both old and new in the region.”
