New minibus for the New Year

January 2017

Thanks to Story Homes, Robert Ferguson school are one step closer to buying their new set of wheels.

The school in Denton Holme Carlisle, are looking to replace their current mini-bus with a new fit for purpose vehicle. The current minibus is in desperate need of replacing but with stretched budgets the school can’t afford to replace it.

They have undertaken many fundraising activities and are now over half way towards their target. With the end in sight they are hoping for some leftover festive generosity and asking for other companies to step forward, dig deep and donate to the cause.

Headmaster Graham Frost said; “Buying a minibus is no small investment and naturally budgets are focused on education. So we are delighted to receive the donation from Story Homes and would like to take this opportunity to offer our sincerest thanks.

“At Robert Ferguson School it is our aim to enable every child to develop all the skills and values necessary to be fulfilled in every respect – and getting out and about is a precious opportunity to prepare our pupils for present and future challenges.”

The school will use the minibus to take children on trips and develop the schools ethos of inclusion within the community.

Ian Storey, Managing Director of Story Homes said; “This donation means a great deal to the children of the school.

“The minibus will enable them to live an enriched life, with opportunities to join in and experience a wide range of activities in comfort and safety and we are happy to help.”
