Story Homes appoints Lindsey Pownall OBE as Non-Executive Director

March 2018

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Lindsey Pownall OBE to the Board of Story Homes as Non-Executive Director.

This follows another successful year for Story Homes; we are set to deliver almost 1,000 homes this financial year at more than 35 developments, following on from 807 completions in 2016/17. Lindsey will play a key role in our business as we work to build on this over the coming years.

With significant experience in brand development and supply leadership, Lindsey acts as Non-Executive Director for Tesco and Meadow Foods Limited, and was awarded an OBE in 2016 for services to business growth and productivity.

Last year, she was also appointed by Story Homes’ sister company, Story Contracting, as Non-Executive Director.

Lindsey commented:  “Having already worked closely with Fred Story in my role on the board of Story Contracting, I was delighted to accept this role at Story Homes. This is an impressive business with great potential for the future, and I am looking forward to advising and supporting the company as it continues to grow.”

Fred Story said: “I am pleased to welcome Lindsey to the business. I believe she will be a valuable addition to our Board as we prepare for further growth, and we will undoubtedly benefit from Lindsey’s extensive experience and strong track record.

“We remain focused on becoming the best volume developer of aspirational homes in the UK, and in order to achieve this – while ensuring that our build quality and customer experience are still top priority – it is vital that we have the right people in place to lead our business. I will be working closely with the Board and our senior management team to ensure that we are able to meet our ambitious targets.”
