Story Homes teams across Cumbria and Scotland, the North West and North East have donated Christmas gifts and items to local food banks across the region.
Thousands of people across the regions are living in poverty and for many, Christmas is a reminder of how little they have. It’s a challenging time for everyone at the moment, and food banks support people who cannot afford the essentials in life.
Food banks also help people break free from poverty by providing additional support to help them resolve the crises they’re facing, including things like debt advice, mental health support, or benefits guidance.
Paul Fleet, Managing Director of Story Homes North West said: “For most of us Christmas is a joyful time of year, but for those who are less fortunate it can also be a very sad time. Every person deserves to have a peaceful Christmas and we have been overwhelmed by the generosity shown by our teams from across the regions in supporting this worthwhile cause and our local communities. We are thrilled to be able to donate Christmas gifts and essential items to these worthwhile charities.”
